SKITOUR Ferwalljoch 2908m / Essener Spitze 3200m

Length:

1 day

Difficulty:

Participants

1-4 Persons

The Essener Spitze is located in the Gurgler Kamm and is one of the somewhat ‘easier’ of the numerous high-Alpine three-thousand-metre peaks with the starting point in Obergurgl. The ascent can be considerably shortened with the help of the Festkogelbahn. After conquering the slightly exposed ridge, you have a gigantic view from the Zillertal Alps over the Dolomites to the entire Gurgler Kamm.

TIP:
If you use the Festkogelbahn, you save yourself a good 500 metres of piste access and start the day with a 200-metre descent.
TIP2:
The Ferwalljoch alone is also an excellent destination for ski touring. Ideal for ski touring newcomers!
