Length:

1 day

Difficulty:

Participants

1-4 Persons

This fantastic ski tour requires an experienced ski mountaineer and safe conditions with stable weather. Time and again, you will be treated to magnificent views of the other Ötztal ice giants and the Italian mountains. There are also impressive views down into the Pfelderer Valley.
Depending on the conditions, the ascent is over the Rotmoosjoch and the Planferner or over the steep Wasserfallferner. Solid hairpin bend technique is essential on both routes.
Impressive descent in good conditions over the Wasserfallferner.

TIP:
The Hohe Mut cable car can be used to shorten the ascent considerably - saving 300 metres of altitude and approx. 2 hours of walking time!
TIP 2:
This tour can be done as a traverse both on the approach to - and on the way back from - the Langtalereck hut.

Walking time:
Obergurgl - summit: approx. 6-7 hours
Hohe Mut mountain station - summit: approx. 5 hours
Altitude:
