Schalfkogel 3540 m), Hochwilde (3461 m), Hinterer Seelenkogel (3472 m) and Vorderer Seelenkogel (3290 m). Each of these mountains is an absolute ski tour highlight in its own right. During our Obergurgl ski touring days, we will try to combine all four of these great-sounding names into one dream tour. Our base camp will be the cosy and well-catered Langtalereckhütte. Exciting ascents, fantastic, challenging descents and impressive views are the ingredients for unforgettable ‘once in a lifetime’ touring days.

Duration:
4 days

Day 1:
Lift ascent to the Hohe Mut, descent into the Rotmoostal. Steep ascent to the Hangerersee, the Hangererferner to the ski depot. Short ascent on foot to the summit of the Vorderer Seelenkogel (3290 m). Descent along the south ridge and over a steep step to the Seelenferner and into the Langtal. Short return ascent to the Langtalereckhütte.

Rotmoostal - summit: 3.5 - 4h

Rotmoostal - summit: 1150 metres altitude

Day 2:
Early start, short descent into the Gurgler gorge, through this to the Gurgler Ferner and via the Kleinleitenferner and the Schalfkogeljoch to the ski depot. Short summit ridge to the highest point of the Schalfkogel (3540 m).
Descent via the ascent route or, if conditions are favourable, directly via the Schalfkogelferner and the steep north-east flank to the Gurglerferner. 200m counter ascent back to the hut.

Gurgler gorge - hut: approx. 45 min

Day 3:
Early start, depending on the route chosen, short descent into the Langtal valley or into the Gurgler gorge.
Via the Langtalerferner with its many crevasses and a steep step to the Annajoch and to the ski depot - or via the Gurgler gorge, Gurglerferner to the Annajoch and to the ski depot. Then spectacular via several switchbacks and towers to the summit of the Hochwilde (3461 m)
Descent via the Langtalerferner and the Langtal, short return ascent (20 min) back to the hut.

Day 4:
Early start, ascent via the Vordere and Hintere Ackerlen to the Mittlere Seelenferner. Via this and a short steep step to the Wasserfallferner. Panoramic views as far as the ski depot. Short ascent on foot to the summit cross of the Hinterer Seelenkogel (3472 m)
Descent directly via the Wasserfallferner and the steep northern flank to the rear Rotmoostal and Obergurgl, or in unfavourable conditions along the ascent route back to the hut and to Obergurgl.

The Obergurgl Alpine Centre makes contact with independent mountain guides. Once you have made contact, we will forward your enquiry to local mountain guides. Details such as the exact meeting point and time, the detailed programme for the day, the equipment required and the actual costs for expenses and the guide should be discussed directly with the mountain guide once you have been put in touch. The prices quoted are a suggestion from the Wildspitze section and are intended as a guide. The final price for the tour is determined by the mountain guide and depends on the effort, duration and difficulty of the tour as well as the number of participants.
